About Dr Tristan Blake
MPharm, MBBS, FACD
Dr Tristan Blake is a specialist dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Having grown up in Far North Queensland (Port Douglas) before moving to the Gold Coast in high school, Dr Blake graduated from a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science followed by a Master of Pharmacy from Griffith University in 2006. He completed his Pharmacy internship and a year working as a Hospital Pharmacist at Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane before moving to a career in Medicine.
He graduated then from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2011. During this time he also worked in research roles for Prof Peter Soyer (Professor of Dermatology, UQ School of Medicine). Dr Blake is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland School of Medicine, and has published more than a dozen journal articles in the medical and Dermatology literature. He enjoys teaching junior doctors and future Dermatology trainees.
Dr Blake completed his Specialist Dermatology training at the Queensland Institute of Dermatology, Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital, Lady Cilento Childrens Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Private Practice (Westside Dermatology) and Mater Adult Hospital. He became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2021.
Dr Blake is a Specialist Dermatologist and sees all types of Dermatology issues including: acne, skin cancer and melanoma, paediatrics, hyperhidrosis, psoriasis, eczema and rosacea. He performs skin surgery and laser in-house here at Ascot Dermatology.Patients describe Dr Blake as approachable, calm, and compliment him for his communication skills. When not at work Dr Blake enjoys time with his wife and two young children, and two dogs.
He very much enjoys talking about sport with patients, cars, and hopes to build on his Master of Australian Wine Diploma with further WSET level 2 and 3 courses in wine in the near future.
