Dermatologists are medical doctors who have completed extensive training in all aspects of disease involving the skin, hair and nails. It can take 15+ years to become a fully qualified dermatologist in Australia (including undergraduate university degrees, medical school, post-graduate university degrees or research, hospital residency, and specialist training), and the training positions are highly competitive.
