Acne

Ascot Dermatology offers fast-track, rapid access acne appointments.

Acne is a common skin condition, including blackheads (open comedones), whiteheads (closed comedones), pimples, pustules, and cysts. It is most common around the time of puberty, but it can occur at any age from babies to younger children and older adults.

Sometimes acne can be tricky to manage and treatment can involve skin care, dietary changes, lifestyle modification, chemical peels, light treatments, prescription topical medications, and/or oral medications. Often a combination of treatments may be needed, depending on the type and severity of the acne. Our dermatologists and nurses can help by personalising an acne treatment plan to suit each individual patient.

Acne scarring can be an unfortunate consequence of severe acne that occurs due to changes in the skin’s collagen and elastin. Redness and pigmentation changes can also occur as a consequence of acne.

At Ascot Dermatology, we are able to treat acne scarring using various treatment modalities. Sometimes a combination of treatments may be required and we are able to offer: chemical peels, radiofrequency microneedling, eCO2 laser, DermaV laser, and surgical techniques.
